Clinician Bios

  • Jennifer Salazar is a Licensed Professional Counselor and certified trauma therapist with over 20 years of experience. She sees children as young as 8, teens and adults. She has an eclectic, strength-based approach utilizing diverse theoretical approaches, including holistic and behavioral neuroscience, to address the root cause of behavioral trauma patterns. Jennifer partners with her clients offering an integrative, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic relationship. Understanding everyone's journey is unique, she strives to cultivate an individualized, safe, and authentic healing experience.

    Jennifer has received training in Brainspotting (BSP), the Neurosequential Model, Cognitive Behavioral, Sand Tray therapy, Nurturing Parenting, Narrative Therapy, and Family Systems. She’s a third-generation practitioner of traditional and holistic healing interventions, with 23 years of experience. When treating OCD, she utilizes the gold standard ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) approaches.

    Her special interests include: working with adolescents, families, young adults, and women, as well as treating the root causes of depression, anxiety, fear, feeling “stuck,” self-esteem, trauma, and disruptive patterns of behavior.

    Statement from Jennifer:

  • Amanda Nomicos is an EMDR trained Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist. She uses an eclectic approach that incorporates CBT, EMDR, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused therapy. She strives to find an approach that works best for each individual client. Amanda has specific training in treating perinatal mood disorders, OCD/anxiety, and trauma. She has worked with families, adolescents, groups, and individuals in a variety of settings.

    ​Amanda has worked as an in-home counselor working with adolescents and families struggling with anxiety, behavioral issues, and depression. She completed training working with college-aged students struggling with anxiety, depression, and adjustments in addition to training in an intensive outpatient eating disorder program.

My main goal as a therapist is to assist you in healing, accomplishing the goals you set, and providing a safe place for you to explore."

  • Jenna is a Licensed Associate Counselor specializing in CBT, DBT, Reality Therapy, and Solution-Focused modalities. She specializes in working with teens and young adults. Jenna strives to create an atmosphere in her sessions that allow clients to identify and achieve their most authentic self. Through her techniques, Jenna is able to assist clients in learning and overcoming various mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, personality disorders, substance abuse and anger management. Through her eclectic personality, she is able to create an environment where all feel welcomed, heard, and understood.

    Jenna has an extensive history working with teens and young adults, beginning during her days working in community mental health, behavioral health hospitals, high school counseling, and as an adolescent substance abuse counselor. She is experienced in co-occurring disorders and has a wealth of knowledge in these areas.

    ​When working with teens and young adults, Jenna helps clients explore their distortions that hinder them from achieving their goals. She will work collaboratively with clients to develop new strategies to manage life's constant barrage of stressors and develop strong interpersonal skills to combat negative situations, thoughts, and core beliefs. Clients will explore the many facets of their lives while also learning real-world skills such as assertive communication, boundaries, self-care, and stress-management. Jenna recognizes that every person has a different story, and she is there to help her clients write the next chapter. She lives by the quote, "Your only limit is you."

  • Meghan Kershinar is an EMDR trained licensed associate therapist. She uses an eclectic approach that incorporates CBT, EMDR, sand-tray, and solution focused. Meghan individualizes care to each client she treats.

  • Lisa Johnson is a Licensed Associate Counselor specializing in CBT, DBT, and EMDR. She sees children as young as 6. She utilizes an individualized and holistic approach integrating various evidence-based therapies to treat anxiety, depression, PTSD, and more.

    ​When working with teens, Lisa integrates Cognitive Strategies, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Strategies, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapies to help them learn to more effectively manage the symptoms they are experiencing. Lisa applies trauma-informed care to offer specialty sessions in EMDR. Here, she integrates techniques from dialectical behavior therapy with EMDR to reshape the internal narrative of trauma, and re-establish a sense of control.

    Lisa believes in meeting each client where they are at, and helping them to heal, to grow, and to flourish.

  • Paige Severance is a Licensed Associate Counselor who specializes in the treatment of trauma and associated symptoms. She uses an eclectic counseling approach tailored to the needs of each of her clients, as she knows each individual is unique and that there is no “one size fits all” to mental health therapy. She is also passionate about guiding and supporting those who are struggling with relational issues, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, grief and loss, LGBTQ+ issues, and more. She has experience in a variety of settings including acute/crisis, residential treatment, community mental health, and with the Native American population. She works with teens ages 14+ of all identities and backgrounds and strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment to those who are seeking help.

    When working with her clients, Paige utilizes a variety of evidenced-based techniques and modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment Theory, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Coherence Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Positive Psychology, among others. She has additional training in using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) as well. She also incorporates artistic, somatic, mindfulness-based, and harm-reduction techniques into her practice. She believes that each individual deserves to heal and grow from what they have been through and struggled with.

    Paige aims to make her clients feel heard and validated in their emotions and experiences and takes a collaborative approach to the counseling process. She does her best to create a compassionate, supportive, non-judgmental space for her clients to stay on their mental health journey. Her goal is to help clients find peace in their lives, whatever that might look like for them, and she is honored to be able to walk the path to healing alongside them.

    In her free time, Paige enjoys hiking, crocheting, spending time with her pets, and going on adventures with her partner.Meghan is a Licensed Associate Counselor.

  • Dr. Schilling is a licensed clinical psychologist in the states of Arizona and Colorado. She is not currently seeing patients. She is the clinical director of the practice.
